Bananas are known to be high in potassium, but they’re also really good at helping muscles grow and move well. So while they’re sweet by nature, making everything taste delicious, they’re even sweeter for helping our bodies function as they should!
1 cup rolled oats
2 tablespoons chia seeds
2 cups almond or coconut milk
2 mashed bananas
2 tablespoons maple syrup or any liquid sweetener, of choice
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Dairy-free yogurt, optional
Fresh bananas, optional
Place oats, chia seeds, milk, mashed bananas, maple syrup, and vanilla into a large Mason jar and mix well. Seal with lid. Refrigerate for up to 4 hours or overnight.
When ready to eat, give it a good stir and add some yogurt and fresh bananas on top. You can also make a parfait with banana slices between layers of oatmeal.
- Have your kids mash up some bananas. That’s always a fun task.
- I like to let my son fill up a big bowl with all the ingredients then I let him stir it. Once he’s done doing that, I transfer the mixture into Mason jars.
- Have your child pick out toppings for their bowl. I love coconut shavings, cacao nibs, almond butter, and fresh fruit!
